What is the Clothes Bank?
Harrogate Clothes Bank offers free good quality preloved clothes to people in need.
We are open to everyone – Everything we supply is FREE – No proof of income or referral is required
What do we offer?
Free, good quality secondhand clothes for men, women and children age 6 and older
We have a small selection of items for young children and babies, as well as limited maternity wear.
We work with charity partners who specialise in baby items, furniture, household goods and toys. If you need these items, please view our Help page for details of available support
We’re here to help
The Clothes Bank is open to anyone in need. Everything we supply is FREE. No proof of income or referral is required.
We offer free, good quality, second-hand clothing to people who struggle to afford clothes. Many of the people we serve need large numbers of items, sometimes urgently.
No proof of low-income is required – we operate on a basis of trust.
Customers do not to be referred to us by another organisation but many are signposted. Organisations who signpost to us include:
- Social Services
- Homeless and vulnerably housed support (Harrogate Borough Council and Harrogate Homeless Project)
- IDAS women’s refuge
- Citizen’s Advice Bureau
- Harrogate Foodbank and Resurrected Bites
- Christians Against Poverty
- Churches
- GPs
- Schools
- Refugees & asylum seekers support groups
Who We Are
Harrogate Clothes Bank was set up in 2016 and is a St Mark’s Church (Leeds Road) project.
Governance is provided by St Mark’s Parochial Church Council (PCC) and the church provides ongoing operational support; banking, HR (safeguarding, etc.) and public liability insurance.
We welcome volunteers and customers of any faith and no faith, and we encourage an environment of mutual respect
